VOLUNTEERS GET MINIMUM WAGE BUT MAXIMUM GAIN FROM PROGRAM.(LIFE & LEISURE)

Gina Nunes of East Providence, R.I., was without a decent job and was short of the money to resume her education when she learned of President Clinton's plan for a domestic Peace Corps.

Mark Newport of North Attleboro, Mass., and Joe Vasta of Barrington were recent college graduates yet to find their career paths when they heard Clinton's call. John Nguyen was a freshman at the University of Connecticut.

The four young adults joined the movement, enlisting last summer in the fledgling National Civilian Community Corps, an arm of the Corporation for National Community Service, known as AmeriCorps.
