Vic: Brumby defends Bracks over gaming licence.

Victorian Premier JOHN BRUMBY has defended the role of his predecessor .. in Victoria's
gaming licence process.

Mr BRUMBY says a parliamentary inquiry into the tender process for the licence to run
Victoria's public lotteries and poker machines .. is a political witchhunt .. and not
about good policy.

Pressure is mounting on former premier STEVE BRACKS to appear before the inquiry ..

which heard yesterday from former Tattersall's executive PETER KERR.

He said Mr BRACKS had freely discussed licences at a secret meeting .. and during a
dinner with controversial lobbyist DAVID WHITE.

Mr BRUMBY says the former premier's held in extremely high regard by the Victorian
community .. and his version of events is very clear.
